To be seen too often during the current EU elections 2019: „There are no ads to display“. Surprisingly for the facebook user, expecting nothing but being messed around with – there are various possibilities for ad transparency. Let us explore those possibilities.

In the case of politics, not only current ads are shown as such. Also, target groups and budgets are released if an ad has been marked as „political“. Let us explore those possibilities.

1. Find an ad on any facebook page

On political Facebook pages though, additional transparency rules apply. The link to the so-called „Facebook’s Ad Library“ can be found on the ad section page of a political Facebook page.

2. Find the link to the ad library

On political Facebook pages though, additional transparency rules apply. The link to the so-called „Facebook’s Ad Library“ can be found on the ad section page of a political Facebook page.

https://www.facebook.com/ads/library/

ALDE Group
ECR Group
S & D Group
